Clicka-click...click, click...click...click, click...DELETE, ENTER.
Ash had not eaten since noon...and it had been just a cookie and some chocolate milk.
But it was better than nothing...which was her usual lunch.
Why didn't I eat? she wondered. Usually she would have a bowl of cereal when she got home from school. But today she hadn't been hungry because she had eaten during lunch, so she skipped the cereal and went to the TV. After some time, she went upstairs to her room and stayed there for a few hours. Then she had gone to the mall. Now she was in her room again...staring at the screen, eyes burning as usual.
Only now it was rediculously late. Or rediculously early--whichever you prefer.
Why was Ash awake?
Because she was downloading stuff for The Sims 2.
All night long. Well, besides the shopping part anyway.
She hadn't removed any of her makeup and had been forced to sneak into the bathroom and wait for about 15 minutes for the sink water to heat up...
...hoping nobody would wake up. For if someone did, and it was likely to be a parent, she would have her computer taken away. She isn't allowed to spend her whole life on that thing, you know.
The main reason she was still up was because one stupid thing was still downloading.
For some reason, it was taking over an hour to download a 1.53 MB house. That would normally take a few seconds.
She had a theory that when the other household PCs were off, her PC's connection slowed.
It is probably correct.
This was taking a long time. And I mean a really long time. Like AOL-style. Ugh...
55% was done. And there were still 46 minutes left.
I've got three words for you:
